Nicole grew up exploring the banks of the Mississippi River (in her literal backyard) in northern Minnesota, went to Grinnell College in Iowa, and afterward spent years in Madison, Wisconsin, enjoying the not-so-stellar rock climbing areas there. Looking for sunnier skies, bigger rocks to climb, and outdoor adventures, Nicole first moved from the Midwest to Colorado in 2015.
Starting with a few stints in New Orleans post-Katrina, Nicole decided to devote her career to non-profits, mostly in development and office management roles. She has worked with organizations supporting affordable housing, hunger prevention, cultural access, and environmental sustainability. Nicole joined VOC in early 2019, ready to jump back into development work, build relationships, and create exciting events. She is especially eager to get her hands dirty on VOC-led projects when the season begins. When not working, Nicole enjoys gardening, rock climbing, hiking, cooking, reading, and playing with her dog.
